2. There'll Be No Major Return

Extreme Rules is to be taken for face value, there's no major surprise return going to be happening. The big names some people might be expecting include CM Punk, AJ Lee or Brock Lesnar. In the case of AJ, she is perhaps the most likely due to the fact she is a contracted full timer. However, she is currently on leave, there's no indication that she will be back this weekend, it would make more sense to start her fresh after Extreme Rules. In saying that, a shock return to get revenge on Paige and assist Tamina would be fitting in the story. We just can't see how that would benefit Paige's push, so it has to be judged unlikely. Lesnar has worked the last two Extreme Rules, so there'll be some speculation he will have a surprise appearance on this one. If he did, you would guess it would involve Daniel Bryan, the number 1 babyface and WWE Champion. It just seems unlikely that WWE would use Lesnar unadvertised at this point, so don't hold your breath. As for CM Punk, he remains firmly on the outside, his contract is expiring in July and a return at this point seems impossible. Extreme Rules is probably going to be thin on the ground for surprises or returns.
