WWE Fastlane 2016: 10 Things We Learned

7. Kevin Owens Will Go Into WrestleMania As Intercontinental Champion

Obviously, the title of this particular entry displays a confidence in the WWE creative team that some fans may feel is ill-placed. However, the proverbial road is clear for Kevin Owens now. His victory over Dolph Ziggler was clean, so there doesn't seem to be much scope for a straight one-on-one rematch come WrestleMania. WWE probably have other things in mind. One of the alternative scenarios which could happen is that Owens will find himself in a multi-man situation come 'Mania. The promotion enjoy the idea of giving everybody they can that big payday, featuring them on the main card. That could happen, or Owens could be about to reignite his well-received feud with Dean Ambrose. After all, Ambrose is possibly out of the WWE Title picture. Whatever happens, it seems unlikely to imagine that WWE will remove the Intercontinental Title from around KO's waist before the big event in early-April. The championship has just recently changed hands into his possession, so it'd seem like a random switch if they were to change tact going forward. As it stands, Owens looks like he will have the IC belt going into 'Mania.
