WWE Fastlane 2021: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
1. WWE Universal Title: Roman Reigns (c) Vs. Daniel Bryan
Result: Roman pins Bryan to retain the title (30:00).
Rating: Though there clearly wasn't much chance of Roman losing here, you'd hardly know it from the tenacity of the in-ring showing - they did everything humanly possible to make us all believe otherwise with all those near-falls and submission attempts.
Roman's sheer power against Bryan's speed and submission prowess would always make for a winning combo, and they unsurprisingly played off each other terrifically.
The Edge element was more disappointing given that he didn't really get up to much until the very end of the match.
Of course there were referee shenanigans, but Edge just ganking both men and walking off would've been perfect for a no contest ending, rather than having Roman still pick up the win.
But this was still an excellent match despite the slightly iffy ending. Having Roman tap was certainly significant, showing a weakness in his armour ahead of WrestleMania - assuming the main event is soon altered to be a triple threat with Bryan, that is. 8/10
