Bodyslam+ is reporting that AAA star Nino Hamburguesa has been released from his contract with the company following a physical altercation at ringside with a fan during one of his independent bookings.

Hamburguesa reportedly elbowed the fan several times for heckling him. The strikes were also described as "light", but AAA showed zero tolerance for the incident. Luchablog corroborated those reports by saying that AAA's roster were informed of the decision last Friday.

The blog also claimed that WWE's influence over AAA likely played a huge role in the call to let Nino go. They said that "standards and expectations have changed" in the promotion since WWE's takeover. Perhaps the biggest punishment Hamburguesa would've received was "a private scolding and a slight de-push under prior ownership" beforehand.

30 year old Nino had spent much of his pro wrestling career with AAA. He joined them in 2012 when he was just 16 years of age, and won both the Mixed Tag-Team Titles as well as the Rey de Reyes tournament in 2025. Those would turn out to be his final achievements with the Mexican powerhouse.

Both Bodyslam+ and Luchablog speculate that the incident going viral online also contributed to WWE/AAA terminating Hamburguesa's contract immediately. Again, it does seem like WWE's rising influence has changed the way AAA operates, as well as tightening up what's deemed acceptable conduct during matches/segments.

Neither AAA nor Nino himself have made a public statement about his firing. Maybe that'll come in due course once everything settles down a bit.
