A tribute to his dearly-departed friend Daisy, The New Daniel Bryan’s 100% sustainable WWE Championship redesign is a characterful masterpiece of visual storytelling. To him, the old design of leather and diamonds isn’t prestigious; it is an ugly hangover of the appalling avarice indulged in by the baby boomer generation.
Throwing it in the trash, it’s one thing he refuses to recycle.
In its place, Bryan on Tuesday debuted a jarring looking belt made up of hemp, oak and earth stones, one that is both visually arresting and perfectly suited to his new, holier-than-thou eco-terrorist character. It looks cheap, but that’s exactly the point: for the good of the planet, we can no longer conflate esteem with wealth.
We need to CHANGE IT, just like Bryan has changed the very image of victory.
