WrestleMania 21's Hollywood theme resulted in an appropriately showbiz setting, with a large screen and curtains to boot. Unfortunately, the ramp was sacrificed in favour of a long flat walkway instead. As a result, 'Taker's entrance was reworked to give it more of a supernatural feel, as he appeared on the walkway before his music even began and then glided towards the ring without actually walking.
While the ring was surrounded by druids - and this creepy gimmick certainly fit with the character - it still felt rather flat compared to his grand entrance at the previous year's 'Mania. Part of the appeal of 'The Phenom's arrival is that slow march to the ring and, unfortunately, the moving plate on which he was gliding stripped that aspect away from him (and resulted in 'Taker moving down the aisle a lot quicker than he should have). It also felt rather odd seeing him go to all this effort with this spooky entrance only to enter before his opponent.
