WWE Greatest Royal Rumble: 10 Things That Must Happen
5. AJ Styles Retains His WWE Title By Disqualification
Similarly, WWE run the risk of tarring Shinsuke Nakamura with the loser brush if he comes up short against AJ Styles again.
After a brilliantly-executed heel turn at 'Mania, Nakamura has the potential to become one of the best villains in the company. He can only do that if fans take him seriously as a threat to the top babyfaces however, and thus losing cleanly more than he wins (especially when it matters most) is to dice with his credibility.
There's an easy out WWE can use to both keep the title on AJ and ensure Nakamura isn't pinned twice on major shows in a short space of time. If the creative team bust out the old disqualification chestnut, it'd help set the scene for another Styles vs. Nakamura match over the next few months.
By ball-shotting AJ in front of the ref, Shinsuke would look like a callous heel who is only concerned with causing harm to his opponent. It's the kind of killer edge Nakamura requires if he's going to nail this heel role.
