11. Vader Recalls The Eyeball Story

One of the goriest scenes in the history of professional wrestling is of Vader's eyeball being torn out of its socket. Although details of the event are well known, Vader has very rarely opened up about the incident.

What is often forgotten is that the match it occurred in was against 2016 Hall of Fame inductee Stan "The Lariat" Hansen.

The incident happened when the two were working for All Japan Pro Wrestling. As Vader recalled, he had already received a broken nose before the match even began thanks to Hansen's errant swing of the trademark bull rope. Vader stated: "You get your nose broke before you get in the ring, and you know you're in for a tough night".

After the bruising match began, Vader recalled that he thought the lights in the Tokyo Dome had gone out. Rather, his right eyeball had been removed from the socket after an accidental thumb to the eye. Vader capped off the story with the whimsical use of some gag slinky eyeball glasses, followed by a touching embrace between the two.
