WWE Has A SHOCKING WrestleMania 42 Opponent In Mind For Brock Lesnar | WWE News

Oba Femi is the frontrunner to face Brock at WrestleMania, but WWE might choose THIS guy instead.

The Wrestling Observer is claiming that LA Knight is in the frame to work with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 this April. According to Dave Meltzer, Knight's name was listed opposite Lesnar on tentative booking sheets for the Las Vegas weekender as recently as the end of January, but plans could've changed by now.

If it happens, then this would represent a first time ever meeting between Brock and Knight.

It'd also be a huge show of faith in LA and give him something meaningful to do. Knight has been lost in the shuffle lately, but there were reports at the tail end of 2025 that Triple H planned to play the long game with the popular babyface before giving him a monster push this year. Could working with Lesnar be the start of that march?

Brock is currently slated to return to TV on the 23 February episode of Raw in Atlanta. There, Meltzer figures WWE's creative team will get moving on his plans for 'Mania 42. Of course, LA Knight isn't the only name in the frame to work with Lesnar, and it'll come as a surprise to many fans that he's even on shortlists for 'The Beast' at all.

What happened during the Royal Rumble match over in Saudi Arabia seemed to give the game away on what Hunter had in the works for Brock.

Oba Femi Still In The Mix

Oba Femi was handed a fun staredown spot with Lesnar in Riyadh for the Rumble.

The Observer has noted that the former NXT favourite (who was recently called up to the main roster and has been spotted on SmackDown talking shop with brand GM Nick Aldis) is still very much in mind as a possible human brick wall for Brock. That'd certainly make more sense than Knight given what happened at the Rumble.

However, LA did help eliminate Lesnar from the 30-man match alongside Cody Rhodes. Fans and critics alike complained about the way that elimination occurred during Jey Uso's "run it back" spot with his entrance track - the way things panned out didn't exactly shine a spotlight on the fact that a major star had just been ousted.

So, in short, it looks like it'll come down to a choice: LA Knight or Oba Femi. Individual fans will have their say on exactly who should work with Brock, but this is a crunch time in Knight's career. However, beating Lesnar on the grandest stage would set Femi up nicely for a run on the main roster in 2026.

Over to you, Trips.
