He Was A Cog In A Bigger Game Plan
This is pretty much something that the WWE could not avoid unless they decided to completely re-route most of their storylines and their biggest marketing chip coming into Wrestlemania 28. I can totally see the point in wanting to spend a year hyping possibly the biggest main event in Wrestlemania for a decade, but it did shove Miz rather unceremoniously to the side, even when the Rock went back off the map. Thing is, when they made their big announcement one day after Wrestlemania 27, the state of the WWE title became somewhat irrelevant- everybody had a fair idea that the Miz was going to lose it sooner rather than later and any heat that he could put on the match was somewhat lost by the fact that the Miz was no longer even the most talked about star in the conversation any more- nor was his match the most talked about match.
