WWE Hell in a Cell 2012: 8 Reasons To Look on the Bright Side
8. Ryback Will Be Back
The WWE Championship match carried the most intrigue coming into the Hell in a Cell PPV, with Ryback being chosen to wrestle in place of the recovering John Cena. This was an interesting opponent to face CM Punk, due to the fact that he had previously only been in a squash matches and a few one-sided affairs with top talent. But, having seen his first main-event match, I have to say that the choice was justified. Ryback was like a caged animal, like a Goldberg that had had a few more years wrestling experience. He played to the crowd to a great extent, as if he had been in the spotlight for months. CM Punk held up his end of the bargain well, with an expression of terror etched across his face. Punk looked fearful of losing the championship, or possibly even worse. However, Paul Heyman seemed to have something up his sleeve, and although it wasn't the heavily fancied Brock Lesnar, the referee brought about Ryback's first loss with a low blow. CM Punk held onto his title, but Ryback had the last laugh. After chucking the referee over the top rope into the cell wall, he chased Punk up to the top of the cell and proceeded to Shell-Shock Punk on the roof. It was an impressive moment, a fitting end to a very good PG Hell in a Cell match and PPV overall.
