On the subject of title reigns that need to continue, there are few better examples in WWE as a whole right now than Kevin Owens. It's fair to say that KO was only elevated to the WWE Universal Title throne due to Finn Balor's injury. Still, he has proven a fine choice in the heel role.

Looking into the future (even as far as WrestleMania 33), Seth Rollins looks like he is destined for a match against Triple H on the largest show of the year. Such a showdown would be diluted by the presence of the Universal Title, Rollins vs. Triple H doesn't need a title to enhance it.

Meanwhile, Owens would benefit greatly from a lengthy association with Raw's top prize. The general idea of the Cell is that someone like Chris Jericho won't be able to have an impact on the result of the match and help KO. That could actually end up making Owens look more powerful if he retains on his own.

By hook or by crook, Kevin Owens has to continue his reign as WWE Universal Champion.
