WWE Hell In A Cell 2016: 6 Reasons Cesaro & Sheamus Will Win Tag Team Gold

1. The Record Red Herring

Maybe it is just me, and maybe my ears are trained to notice the inane warbling of Michael Cole, but they RAW announce team does seem to have been a little too vocal recently when its come to mentioning Demolition and their still-standing tag team title record. Is this all just a red herring to make the audience assume a title change isn't going to happen? It all seems a little too obvious, no?

More importantly, I love Demolition. I recently moved to Prague, and when faced with the choice of which old school wrestling figures to bring to stand lovingly in my Czech apartment, Ax and Smash got the nod over a bevy of 80s and 90s heroes. Their entrance music was my ring tone for the longest time. I genuinely consider them WWE's most underrated tag team in history.

A team who has only successfully defended their titles via a trombone can't dethrone them as the longest reigning WWE tag champions of all time, I don't care how many lawsuits are filed. Ax and Smash were bad-ass veterans who could brawl with the Powers of Pain and then go and put on a tag clinic with Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard. They deserve that record.

So please Cesaro, and please Sheamus. Do it for me. Do it for Ax, and do it for smash. Heck, do it for Crush.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
