Uh oh.

It's not beyond WWE's booking tactics to put that United States Title on Mustafa Ali in hour one of Hell In A Cell and then take it right back off of him in hour three. Picture this: Ali beats Theory, who tries to cheat throughout the entire match. Then, later, Vinnie Mac decrees that Mustafa has to defend his newly-won prize immediately.

Cue Theory successfully cheating to regain the secondary strap and WWE moving on like nothing happened. Internally, this may be justified as, 'The pay-per-view needs some sort of title switch!'. It'd be totally unsatisfying creatively though, not least because it'd interrupt Theory's ascent on Raw.

Of course, there's no evidence to support the idea that WWE would book Ali properly as United States Champ anyway. His entire comeback run has been built around making other workers look good. A criminally short run with the US belt wouldn't change his fortunes.
