WWE Hell in a Cell Preview: Will CM Punk Survive Ryback?

Match #4: Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz When I wrote my Night of Champions preview last month, I made a prediction that Kofi and R-Truth€™s tag team would break up in the coming months, and Kofi would become part of the Intercontinental Title picture. I certainly didn€™t think that would come true within a month of Kofi Kingston losing his Tag Team Title. Now a singles competitor once more, Kofi has been on fire the past few weeks. Always one of my personal favorites, he seems revitalized in the ring, more focused on working matches. His rhythm in the ring has gotten noticeably better as well, with moves that used to be easy to telegraph emerging suddenly and naturally through the course of the match. The Miz, on the other hand, seems to be suffering from the Curse of Larry King. After interrupting King€™s talk show, the Miz began a series of brutal weeks, losing his belt to Kofi on Wednesday Night Main Event and getting pummeled by Ryback on Raw, only stopping the bleeding by dominating Yoshi Tatsu this past week on Smackdown. Kofi and The Miz feels like a natural rivalry, both men oozing with cockiness, but where the Miz wears his brashness with disdain for those around him, Kofi thrives off of the crowd. Both competitors are sure to give us an €œAwesome€ match, but in the end, it seems as though it€™s time for someone other than The Miz to bring the Intercontinental Title relevancy, leaving him open to pursue the top belts once more. Winner: Kofi Kingston
