WWE Hershey Live Event: 10 Interesting Observations

5. AJ Styles Suffers A Knee Injury?

The co-main event of the night was a phenomenal (pun most definitely intended) match between AJ Styles and Intercontinental champion Kevin Owens. The near-falls late in the match were outstanding, electrifying fans in a ways the other matches on the card could only hope to. Late in the match, a frustrated Owens tied Styles to the Tree-of-Woe and ignored the official's count, getting himself disqualified. With Styles in a heap at ringside, the champion ran down the audience on the microphone, proclaiming himself the Best in the World and the greatest Superstar of all-time. It was then that Styles springboarded off the top rope and took him down with the flying forearm. As he rose to his feet, though, it was clear that Styles had done something to his knee. He was favoring it, limping even, as he exited the ring and made his way up the ramp. A grimace of pain could be seen on his face as he exited, though he did take the time to take a few selfies and sign and autograph or two. The likelihood that Styles suffered a serious injury and we have not heard about it yet, even this close to the end of the show, is unlikely. Word spreads too quickly to keep such a thing covered up. But Styles was clearly in pain so it should be interesting to see if he is held out of the ring as a precaution on Raw or SmackDown. Or, perhaps it is one of the countless bumps and bruises suffered by WWE Superstars every night they are on the road, one that will never really heal but will not hamper his in-ring work either.
