It sounds like WWE are planning something big before this week's episode of SmackDown in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the promotion has announced a press conference to be held at the T-Mobile Arena at midday on Friday.

Triple H, Tyson Fury, Braun Strowman, Rey Mysterio, Cain Velasquez, Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman are all listed as attendees. Whether there'll be joined by other WWE roster members remains to be seen.

There's no word on what, exactly, WWE is going to announce in Las Vegas, though booking Velasquez vs. Lesnar and Fury vs. Strowman seems likely. Last week's SmackDown featured confrontations between both sets of combat sports athletes, and with Tyson and Braun's brawl closing this week's Raw, it looks like WWE is going all in.

Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 31 October has been pinpointed as a potential landing point for these feuds.

Holding this press conference is an interesting move from WWE regardless. It's very UFC and plays into the idea that SmackDown will be presented more like a real sport now that it's on FOX, so let's see how it comes off, and let's see if it's kayfabed.
