WWE Interested In Fenix & Pentagon Jr.?

Impact & Lucha Underground stars on Vince McMahon's radar.

Pentagon Jr Rey Fenix
PWG

Per Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE have began the process of reaching out to Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr., collectively known as the Lucha Brothers.

There's currently no word on how far along they may be in any negotiations, but Meltzer writes that WWE have made overtures.

The duo's Lucha Underground contracts could prove a stumbling block. It's thought that they currently have three seasons left on their deals, but while the promotion have shown a willingness to let talent out of contracts early, Ricochet's WWE signing was delayed by a similar situation last year.

As well as LU, the Lucha Brothers are currently active in Impact Wrestling, where Penta is considered one of the resurgent promotion's biggest stars. They have also started working for Mexico's top company, CMLL, and regularly work for top-level independents like MLW, PWG, and AAW.

With the likes of Ricochet and Keith Lee absent and Matt Riddle on his way out, the Lucha Brothers are now among the biggest names left on the North American circuit. A WWE deal isn't imminent, as the LU situation would take time to negotiate, but it's easy to see why Pentagon and Fenix would be on the company's radar.
