WWE Interested In Signing Soon-To-Be Free Agents Danhausen, Private Party (AEW News)

Could Danhausen and Private Party be swapping AEW for WWE?

In a follow-up to some reports earlier in the year, it appears that Private Party and Danhausen may be the next talents to swap AEW for WWE.

Last month brought word from Fightful Select that the contracts of Marq Quen, Isiah Kassidy, and Danhausen were expiring soon, with those reports noting how WWE had "preliminary interest" in Private Party.

In an update on this, Bodyslam.net reports that all three talents' AEW deals are up "imminently", and WWE has "major interest" in the trio.

Additionally, it's said that the existing AEW deals of Chris Jericho, Renee Paquette, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker are all up before the end of 2025, although there's no word on the future of those names at this time.

To go back to Private Party, they've been with Tony Khan's promotion since its infancy, being immediately presented as the hottest young tag team in the company. However, it's been a somewhat stop-start time with AEW for Quen and Kassidy, with the highlight being defeating the Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Team Titles last October. Even then, though, they only had two successful title defences - a four-team match at Full Gear 2024 and a Collision win over Lio Rush and Action Andretti - before losing those belts to the Hurt Syndicate back in January. For whatever reason, Private Party has not been seen on AEW TV since then.

In the case of Danhausen, his most recent match under the AEW/ROH banner was all the way back in February 2024, where he grabbed a win over Brandon Cutler in Ring of Honor. When it comes to AEW, though, you have to go back to December 2023 for his most recent contest, which was a battle royal during the Worlds End pre-show. The Very Nice, Very Evil star did make an appearance at ROH Final Battle this past December, with many - including the man himself - under the impression that this was the start of him being brought back into the fold on a more regular basis... only for it to bizarrely lead to, well, nothing.

By all accounts, Danhausen and Private Party have been fit, healthy, and ready to go, but have simply not been used by AEW or ROH lately. To highlight that, Danhausen has wrestled 16 matches for other promotions so far this year, the most recent of which was for Green Mountain Wrestling in Vermont in May. For Private Party, they've not been quite as active as Danhausen, but they did lace 'em up for House of Glory - the pair's 'home' promotion - in March.
