WWE Interested In Top IMPACT Wrestling Star?

WWE came close to scooping up this top IMPACT Wrestling star recently.

Moose WWE
WWE/IMPACT

It sounds like IMPACT Wrestling recently came close to losing one of its top stars to WWE.

Per Fightful Select, Moose has confirmed one of the outlet's previous reports on WWE's pursuit of him prior to re-signing with IMPACT in 2021, which was believed to be for a further two years. The former IMPACT World Champion had held talks with the market leaders and was seemingly set to head straight to the company's main roster, but decided to stick with his current employers after they came back to him with an offer representing a "major improvement" on his previous terms.

Moose told Fightful that he had made his mind up and was going to go to WWE until IMPACT executive Scott D'Amore came back to him with the aforementioned offer.

Canyon Ceman, who is no longer with WWE, was the point man on Moose's talks with the promotion. There isn't believed to be any heat on the former NFL player within WWE for turning their offer down.

Moose, 38, has been with IMPACT since leaving his breakout promotion, Ring of Honor, in 2021. His 182-day reign as the company's World Champion recently ended by Josh Alexander's hand at Rebellion 2022 (23 April).
