These five workers have been cut by WWE; one of them is a former WWE Champion.

PWInsider and Fightful Select have confirmed that WWE decided to release Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, Xia Li and Xyon Quinn in short order on Friday night.

Jinder is the highest profile release due to his stint as WWE Champion in 2017. The company hadn't really been doing much with him or Indus Sher duo Veer and Sanga though, which is presumably why all three were shown the exit door. For reference, Jinder's final WWE match came as part of the annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown pre-WrestleMania 41.

Xia Li signed in 2017, but failed to properly make a splash on the main roster following her run on NXT. Creative initially cast Li as a 'Great Protector' for put upon women in SmackDown's division, but that didn't really last long enough to leave a lasting impression.

Xyon Quinn is a curious one. He inked his deal in 2018, but didn't really make a mark until being announced as a "free agent" in the 2023 Draft. Following that, Quinn wrestled a couple of matches on TV. His last came opposite Bron Breakker in a six second squash a month or so ago.

It's worth noting that Mahal posted a short message on X saying: "I quit. Maharaja out".
