Both the King and Queen Of The Ring tournaments will kick off on next week's episode of SmackDown.

WWE announced during Friday's special 2021 Draft edition that the male and female tourneys will launch on the "Season Premiere" of SmackDown on 8 October. It's believed that both will conclude at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on 21 October, but that's still to be confirmed.

The brackets for both tournaments are also pending, although WWE did show off Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Finn Bálor and Drew McIntyre on the men's side during a short hype vid - Carmella, Rhea Ripley, Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax, Naomi, Zelina Vega, Liv Morgan and Eva Marie flashed up on screen for the women.

That's eight workers per tourney, which sounds about right in terms of numbers.

WWE's 8 October start means they'd have two episodes each of Raw and SmackDown to work with before Crown Jewel. That's more than enough time to plough through quarter finals, semi finals and ready both blow offs for the supershow.
