WWE Legend Calls Sting's AEW Retirement "Well Overdue"

A certain WWE Hall Of Famer thinks Sting should still keep his options open though.

Booker T believes Sting's pro wrestling retirement is "well overdue", but also thinks his old WCW pal should "keep that door open" for future non-wrestling appearances in AEW or even elsewhere.

The current NXT announcer appeared to contradict himself via his podcast by calling the Stinger's retirement announcement "overdue" one minute then adding "stay in the ring forever"; it's worth noting that Book was laughing when he launched into a rant about Sting potentially staying active, and he also pointed out that sitting at home "can get lonely" for some ex-workers.

He doesn't want Sting's "light to really go dim" by removing himself from the spotlight completely. In fact, whilst Booker doesn't think the multi-time World Champ should keep throwing himself off ladders and through tables, he does reckon the icon could still maintain some sort of presence on wrestling TV in 2024 and beyond.

Interestingly, Booker also said that Tony Khan's product would lose "part of that show's blueprint" if the Stinger vanished overnight. However, he does think it's time for Sting to give his body a proper rest from all the bumps and bruises.
