WWE Legend Shares Hilarious Vince McMahon Weed Smoking Story
Vince McMahon wasn't smoking, but this carefree WWE legend sure was...
"Charles, I think we'll take the next one".
Those were Vince McMahon's words to Charles 'The Godfather' Wright mid-memorable elevator run-in during the pimp character's prime. Wright told the 'Generation Of Wrestling' podcast that he was smoking weed with good pal "Big Worms" when he accidentally ran into the boss.
According to Charles, this Worms fella' didn't really mind smoking pot anywhere. One time, he decided to spark one up right there in the lift - when the doors opened, The Godfather saw a bemused Vince standing there. That's when McMahon uttered the unintentionally hilarious line at the top of this story.
Vinnie Mac's comedic timing and deadpan delivery were on point that day.
Wright admitted on the pod that he's been "smoking strong" since the Papa Shango days in the early-1990s. So, presumably, it wasn't a surprise for Vince to see him stoned. In fact, Godfather said, "anytime you see me after Papa Shango, I was medicated".
Live the gimmick, and all that.
Even so, McMahon decided against stepping foot in the smoke-filled elevator and elected to wait for the next one. Wright wasn't about to hold that against him.
