Ever since The Rock returned to the WWE back in 2011, there's been a contingent of fans that have this unadulterated unwavering hatred for the man formerly known as Dwayne Johnson. Shortly after Wrestlemania this past Sunday, it was learned that The Rock had suffered injuries during the match, including an inductor tear in his abdominals and a possible hernia. This would lead the Hollywood hot property to head back home before Raw this past Monday in which he was scheduled to appear leaving fans with more ammunition to add to the already incendiary thoughts against The Rock. While I understand the sentiment that fans still feel up a little jilted by the fact that Rock left for Hollywood Then 8 years later decides to return to the WWE to use the promotional machine for his films. The reality is The Rock has earned that spot and that deal to do such things, after all, he was one of the youngest WWE champions in history and then transcend the industry to levels unforeseen making a seamless transition to Hollywood movie star, which truth be told his contemporaries such as Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin has had trouble translating to mainstream audiences. Dwayne has navigated dangerous waters like this before being the son of a wrestling dynasty doesn't come without its pressures in and out of the ring.. Fans need to understand while Rock was a WWE superstar he's not anymore he's a guest star on WWE's variety hour He is a Hollywood actor first and foremost, who occasionally who gets back in the ring.. And in that role I believe he has done what Vince and crew have asked him to do. If you look at Dwayne's schedule for the next couple months then you would see how crazy things are for the leader of the bring it. He's got movies and TV shows that can't afford to lose business relationships with that. Imagine how much Johnson is putting at risk year even stepping into the ring at 40+. But as with anything I feel like The Rock had a lot to prove to himself that he can still work in front of the live crowd and electrify Now you can argue the results of that if you want but the reality is The Rock brings eyeballs and mainstream attention . And while to the hard-core fan base that doesn't mean as much as match quality or promo ability it does matter to everyone else. I think were so isolated in our little squared circle bubble that we forget the bigger picture that it isn't just about the art form. But instead it's all about what makes dollars and cents no matter how un-creatively inspired it may be. The same reason that John Cena will probably never turn heel too much money involved with it. You can be mad with what he represents as in WWE's reliance on older names instead of younger talent or Vince and his dire need to be accepted in the mainstream entertainment. However, they cannot be mad at Dwayne Johnson, the person. As he's just doing a featured role on a television show. Now will this change anyone's mind? I doubt it But I felt like I needed to say it so there you have it. Sometimes fans need to understand that life in general is a lot more important than the wrestling business.
