WWE Money In The Bank 2016: 10 Shocks That Could Happen
One way or another, will there be a new WWE Champion after Sunday?
Money In The Bank is the perfect WWE pay-per-view for shocks, the very nature of the show's main hook demands the idea of surprise. Arguably, the actual gimmick of someone receiving a guaranteed WWE Title shot is played-out by now, but those cash-in moments are still regularly well-received when they happen.
On Monday Night Raw, the company had top stars like Dean Ambrose and John Cena compare Money In The Bank to WrestleMania during promos. That's quite the sweeping statement, but it does set the scene nicely for some shocking occurrences that could make the event one of the most important of the entire year.
Matches like AJ Styles vs. John Cena are just crying out for a surprising conclusion, and it's not exactly a certainty that Roman Reigns will leave with the WWE World Heavyweight Title either.
As for the actual Money In The Bank Ladder Match, what if one twisted character made an eye-opening return to action, ensuring that the former members of The Shield will collide sometime in the near future?
The possibilities are many, so let's take a look at 10 shocks that could feasibly happen on WWE's next pay-per-view special...
10. Dolph Ziggler Downs Baron Corbin
There's a reason this one kicks off this list, and not least because it'll probably take place on the Money In The Bank Kickoff show.
Dolph Ziggler has already beaten Baron Corbin, doing so back at Payback during their first significant encounter. That was followed up by Corbin defeating Dolph at Extreme Rules in a tepid No Disqualification Match.
This means both guys are tied at one win apiece, making Money In The Bank the decider. As the fresher face, it makes sense to believe that Corbin will be the one to leave with his hand raised, but that isn't necessarily the only possible end result.
It wouldn't be earth-shattering if Ziggler bagged the win this Sunday, but it would be a minor shock. Baron Corbin is one of the NXT hopefuls promoted from the developmental brand onto the main roster, and it's clear he's someone WWE have high hopes for going forward.
Ziggler beating him once more at Money In The Bank to end their feud would fly in the face of the perception that Corbin is destined to get a push. It'd also put the relative newcomer to the back of the line.
