Result: Carmella kicks a distracted Asuka in the face to retain the title (11:10).

Rating: This match was inherently awkward to watch because it was never remotely believable that a fight between these two would last more than a few minutes at most, but there you go.

It was strange that the match wasn't booked to have Carmella resorting to cheap heel tactics throughout, and instead they actually made her look fairly competent while once again nerfing Asuka's abilities.

The finish was... a finish. James Ellsworth returning was a fun moment, but the cost was making Asuka look like an absolute moron by being distracted for so long.

The Asuka we know from NXT would've quickly kicked the impostor in the face and got back to dismantling Carmella. Instead it's looking increasingly likely that Asuka's simply the latest tentpole NXT talent to crater on the main roster. 4/10
