WWE MSG Live: 15 Things You Totally Missed
11. Randy Orton Pokes Eyes Too
Midway through Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler v Sheamus and Rusev, Orton takes the opportunity to poke Rusev in the eye, which gives him time to get away and tag in Ziggler. Rusev sells the eye for a while after the poke, and the commentators react like Randy Orton is a cheeky boy pulling out a smart and resourceful move while the referee wasn't looking.
It's always been one rule for faces and another for heels as far as WWE and its commentators go, but it's a bit egregious when Kevin Owens' current storyline is centered around eye rakes. Owens won the Intercontinental Championship from Ryback and defended it successfully again Chris Jericho at MSG with eye rakes, and when announcers are encouraging one superstar and decrying another for the same tactic, it comes off as disingenuous.
