At the moment, WWE uses RAW to enhance storylines with the main goal of selling pay-per-views. Soon, this will not be the case. WWE will be making more money from RAW (and Smackdown) than they will from producing pay-per-views. On top of this, RAW will be their biggest chance to convince people to sign up to the WWE Network. In theory, this should lead to a better quality of RAW. They could, in fact, become more important than pay-pew-views for WWE. The new TV deals are expected to be greatly improved on the previous deal and in order to justify this, the ratings are going to have to be good. RAW will have to become unmissable, or a lot of people may skip watching RAW live and decide to watch the encore presentation on the network instead, which would be... bad for business. I'm not saying that there is going to be a major storyline happening every week, but, could we see RAW without the pointless and annoying 'filler' content that we are subjected to week after week? Imagine a RAW without a divas musical chairs segment. Ahhhhh. Now imagine RAW without having to see The Great Khali dancing. I'll leave you with that happy thought...
