WWE NOT Opening Hall Of Fame And Restaurant At Universal Studios

WWE will need to look elsewhere for a physical Hall Of Fame.

Earlier this week, news began spreading that WWE was planning on opening a physical Hall of Fame and theme restaurant at Orlando's Universal Studios theme park, in time for next year's WrestleMania 33. Now, The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that a source close to the park has shot down the rumor, claiming that the location in question will be home to a Universal-themed attraction and not something WWE related. The location, previously home to the NBA City restaurant, is in Universal's CityWalk area, an entertainment, dining, and retail district located within the park. Though no official plan has been announced, The Orlando Business Journal states that the use of the spot for a Universal store seems likely, as the park has been planning such a project for a long time and the location is in a heavily-trafficked area of CityWalk. Still, if WWE is to open a physical Hall of Fame, Orlando is the right place do it. The company's NXT brand and Performance Center are both based in the city, which is the most-visited tourist destination in the United States. Home to Disney World, Universal Studios, and a host of other theme parks, the city's tourism board announced that 62 million people visited Orlando in 2014.
