WWE NXT Beats AEW Dynamite In Viewership, Still Loses Wednesday Night War
Dynamite finished 13th on the night amongst cable shows, NXT 21st.
WWE’s NXT Halloween Havoc special proved successful not just in terms of the critical response, with the revived WCW concept widely considered one of the black and gold brand’s most fun shows of the year, but also with regards to overall viewership.
Halloween Havoc came through with an overall viewership of 876,000, up from the previous week’s 644,000. This was enough to outdo Dynamite's 781,000 viewers, which increased by a smaller margin, improving on the previous week’s 753,000.
This was actually NXT’s highest overall viewership since 20 November 2019, when the show came through with an average of 916,000 across its two hours.
A total of 1.657 million people watched live professional wrestling on Wednesday night.
Despite this, NXT still lost the Wednesday Night Wars this week, with its 0.25 rating in the key 18-49 demographic falling short of Dynamite’s. NXT posted a mighty increase from 0.16 to 0.25 while AEW hit 0.32 after the previous week’s 0.30, meaning the WWE show hasn’t outdone Dynamite since 18 December 2019.
AEW finished 12th on the night amongst cable shows, while NXT was up to 21st after three consecutive weeks of failing to break the top 50.
