7. Glasgow Loves NXT But Not TLC
From the beginning of the show right through till the main event, there were chants of NXT. Announcer Greig Hamilton didnt have to amp up the crowd much because whenever they could chant for the brand, they were happy to oblige. When an ad for WWE TLC played on the big screen, the cheers turned to boos and as the video package was hyping Roman Reigns and Sheamus main event match on Sunday, the 10,000 strong in Glasgow tried to drown out the video by screaming NXT at the top of their lungs. After glancing round the arena at the demographic of the attendees, it became clear why people werent impressed with the TLC video package. The majority of the patrons were 18-34 males who typically wouldnt buy a ticket to a WWE Live house show but wanted to make the trip to see NXT, with its edgy, underground vibe. WWE may really be onto something with the NXT brand in that now theres the main roster tours where parents can take their children to see their favourite superstars when adults who maybe arent excited by RAW anymore, can tune into NXT on the WWE Network and come to an NXT live show when it comes to their town.
