WWE's executive vice president of talent, live events, and creative Paul "Triple H" Levesque took to Twitter Monday afternoon to announce that NXT's next TakeOver show would take place in Chicago, Illinois on May 20th - the same city and weekend as the Smackdown-brand Backlash PPV.

NXT's now runs TakeOver events in conjunction with the "big four" Pay-Per-View shows - Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. As the brand typically runs five or more TakeOvers a year, though, they need to add extra events to the schedule. Rather than head back to Full Sail University, the company has decided to tie TakeOver: Chicago in with another existing show and hold it in a full-sized arena.

Triple H also announced a series of upcoming road shows for the NXT brand, including one in Phoenix, Arizona on May 4, one in Riverside, California on May 5, and one in San Diego, California on May 6. Additionally, leading into TakeOver: Chicago, there will be a show in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 18, and one in Evansville, Indiana on May 19.
