WWE's Bash in Berlin is at least PARTLY targeting AEW All In 2024...

AEW and WWE are set to contest the European wrestling market in 2024, with AEW's second All In event at London's Wembley Stadium (25 August) now taking place less than a week before WWE's newly-announced Bash in Berlin event on 31 August.

WWE's decision to host Bash so close to All In was at least partly motivated by competition, reports Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio - but not entirely.

Meltzer stated that trying to "screw AEW with the show" was likely a secondary concern. Theoretically, Bash in Berlin would eat into All In's market share, given the volume of travelling fans expected to head to London from other European countries next August.

Venue size was likely WWE's primary concern. Meltzer states that if WWE was targeting AEW in the strongest possible way, it would have scheduled Bash at Berlin to go head-to-head with All In on the same weekend. Instead, the market leaders booked Berlin's Mercedes-Benz Arena based on availability.

All In 2024 will be a considerably grander event than Bash in Berlin, taking place at Wembley Stadium. The promotion attracted 72,265 live fans for All In's London debut earlier this year.
