WWE Over The Limit Predictions - Brock Lesnar To Return?
After arguably throwing money down the drain with their Extreme Rules PPV last month, Vince McMahon's WWE is back on your TV this weekend with their 3rd Over The Limit event.
After arguably throwing money down the drain with their Extreme Rules PPV last month, Vince McMahon's WWE is back on your TV this weekend with their 3rd Over The Limit event. With no advertised appearance by Brock Lesnar one has to wonder how the buy rate will be affected, especially with a main event featuring a non wrestler.
Kane Vs Zack Ryder (Dark Match)
It seems illogical to have this match as a dark match when you consider the TV exposure Ryder got at the hands of his various beatings from The Big Red Machine. Hell, Ryder even interjected himself in Kane's last PPV match with Randy Orton so surely the payoff for fans is to see this on television?
Prediction: We all know Ryder needs the victory but with the continued downward spiral of the Long Island Iced Z it's surely another meaningless win for the masked demon.
Layla Vs Beth Phoenix - WWE Diva's Championship
Beth Phoenix is the best thing to happen to the women's division since ... forever. Currently there is no woman on the roster who would stand a chance against her except for maybe Natalya and Awesome Kong. It goes without saying Phoenix should win this but logically Layla needs to lose the strap to Kong/Kharma and then set up a feud with Beth.
Prediction: Kharma returns and costs Phoenix the match.
Kofi Kingston and R-Truth Vs Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger - Tag Team Championships
I hate thrown together tag teams. I'm a fan of teams who wear matching outfits and have a reason to be together other than creative having no ideas for them. Air Boom was fun but thrown together. The same can be said for the current champions and that annoys me. At least Ziggler and Swagger are members of a faction of sorts so have reason to be together. Plus, they are highly entertaining and draw tons of heat from the fans.
Prediction: Kofi and Truth retain even though they shouldn't. Perhaps WWE will split up Swagger and Ziggy even though they shouldn't.
Sheamus Vs Chris Jericho Vs Randy Orton Vs Alberto Del Rio - World Heavyweight Championship
Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio clearly didn't have enough appeal. WWE has much less faith in Del Rio than they did this time last year so they've thrown Chris Jericho and Randy Orton into the mix to help sell the match and ensure Sheamus leaves looking even stronger.
Prediction: Sheamus retains the belt, looks really strong but doesn't damage either Jericho or Orton in the process. An Orton/Sheamus feud will likely follow.
CM Punk Vs Daniel Bryan - WWE Championship
This is arguably the most exciting match on the card and the most anticipated match of the year for internet fans. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan on a WWE PPV for a high profile title AT LAST! Whatever next? Punk/Bryan/Samoa Joe at Wrestlemania?
Prediction: After what should be a match of the year candidate Punk will retain. Bryan will be even more over than he already is and Punk will go on to feud with Cody Rhodes on RAW.John Cena Vs John Laurinitis
Why is this match happening? Why isn't Cena off the PPV selling his injury? Why isn't Brock Lesnar involved somehow? Can't the WWE PPV machine survive a month without it's favourite cash cow? So many questions but none so big as why the Hell is Johnny Ace headlining a live main event in 2012.
Prediction: No WWE stars can get involved or else they'll be fired? How convenient then that Brock Lesnar 'quit' WWE. What Culture predicts that Brock will interfere and just when Super Cena looks like he's about to lose to Road Warrior Animal's less interesting brother Triple H and his magically fixed left arm will save the day. I mean, after all, Hunter isn't technically a wrestler anymore but rather the boss. This will nicely set up Triple H and Brock Lesnar at No Way Out.
What are your predictions for tomorrow's PPV?
