WWE Pay-Per-Views Cancelled & Replaced - Major Changes In 2023?
What classic WWE event could make a return in this major Premium Live Event reshuffle?
WWE could be looking into drastically overhauling their monthly Premium Live Event schedule in 2023.
The huge changes have already started too, it would see. Brandon Thurston for Wrestlenomics on POSTWrestling that the company's January 1st "Day 1" event was to be scrapped entirely, noting that;
"WWE’s Day 1 premium live event isn’t taking place, according to multiple sources. The event, originally scheduled for January 1st, 2023, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, isn’t being rescheduled or rebranded.There is no PLE for WWE expected between Survivor Series on November 26th and Royal Rumble on January 28th."
The Wrestling Observer offered the same sometime later, with Bryan Alvarez noting "big changes" were expected. This was then followed Twitter scoops outlet XeroNews reporting that various other shows were being dropped or moved and old favourites could be set for a possible return. In their own words;

To clarify the abbreviations, the tweet suggests that Elimination Chamber could become an annual event in Saudi Arabia as part of WWE's agreement with the Saudi Arabian Sports Authority (the show took place from Jeddah in 2022), Hell In A Cell will be cancelled, King Of The Ring will return and that WWE may elect to make Clash At The Castle-like UK shows part of the regular rotation.
It's worth noting of course that this remains strictly a rumour at present, and that WWE's plans could internally change and change again before revealing a new line-up. In the meantime, the confirmed schedule at present remains Crown Jewel on November 5th, Survivor Series on November 26th, Royal Rumble on January 28th and WrestleMania 39 on April 1st and 2nd.
