Nothing felt out of place at Payback. Each match helped build the card, rather than random interjections that would have cooled things off. At WrestleMania, that's what transpired, there were matches like the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal that fans weren't interested in.

If fans decided to visit the merchandise stands at Payback, they might have missed something interesting. That's the sign of a good wrestling show, one that maintains interest right until the end.

WrestleMania is a separate beast to anything else WWE present, but that doesn't excuse it for having periods that cause attention to waver. This year, it did, and Payback didn't.

Even when Enzo Amore was unfortunately injured minutes into the pay-per-view opener, WWE quickly kept the pace going by presenting Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn. It came across like nothing was going to spoil the show, and the WWE team worked together in order to ensure that.

Each match had a distinct issue surrounding it, there was nothing throwaway on the main card at Payback.
