As Payback went on the air, a simple video package introduced the pay-per-view. The message was clear, WWE are currently going through something of a revolution, a new era has dawned. Of course, that has been the story revolving Shane McMahon's return, that the McMahon son wants to freshen things up.

Fans were promised that Vince McMahon would choose between his son and daughter, the winner having the distinction of running Monday Night Raw. Most believed it would be Shane, but WWE decided to take the pedestrian route on this one. Instead of making an outright choice, Vince decreed that both would act as co-power figures.

It's important to be fair and see what WWE choose to do with this idea, it can't last forever. However, it wasn't exactly treated like the earth-shattering announcement it was hyped to be by those in attendance.

One small piece of information has been lost in all of this, exactly who is running SmackDown? Are WWE just glossing over that piece of the puzzle for now? It doesn't really make the blue brand look too great.
