A potentially legendary showdown could be in the works for AJ.

AJ Styles has been booked as a true WWE headliner in quite some time, but it sounds like the promotion may have something special planned for 'The Phenomenal One' at WrestleMania 36.

A new report from Wrestlezone states that the former WWE Champion is currently slated to face The Undertaker in Tampa. They got this scoop by speaking to a source within the company, so it'll be interesting to see if this starts panning out on television.

'Taker's WrestleMania 36 status is thought to be up in the air with recent stories suggesting he and WWE were still negotiating a potential appearance. A match wasn't ruled out entirely, though there was certainly no guarantee that he'd be on the show.

WrestleMania 35 was the first 'Showcase of the Immortals' Undertaker had missed in years, though he showed up to destroy Elias on the following night's Raw. His last match was the Graveyard Dogs' awesome tag throwdown with Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules 2019.

Styles, meanwhile, is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, but he is booked to compete in the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match at Super ShowDown on 27 February.
