8. WrestleMania 10 vs. Yokozuna

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvK2TQqplNE In terms of the actual match, it wasn't that much better than the first WrestleMania match against Yokozuna a year earlier. It was similar in a lot of ways although you could make the case that it was a bit worse because it was Yoko's second match of the night. I always found it strange that they would make Yokozuna, a guy that was a 500 pounder, work twice. I know it was done based on the stipulations of that night, but Yoko looked like he was out of it as soon as the match began. They got about 10 minutes, so they told the obvious story of Bret as the smaller face trying to come back after getting beat up for most of the match. When Yoko hit him with a big belly to belly suplex it looked like it was over. He set up for the dreaded Banzai Drop, but Bret was able to move and cover for the pinfall win. It was too difficult for him to put the Sharpshooter on somebody a big as Yoko, so it made sense that he would win after Yoko messed up his finisher. The response when Bret won was pretty awesome. Fans were genuinely happy that the babyface was able to overcome the heel champion. It made up for the match being below standard. As a moment, it was one of the best of Bret's career. That image to end WrestleMania 10 with Bret being paraded around on the shoulders of other babyfaces while his angry brother Owen looked on from the aisle was fantastic.
