After CM Punk had seemingly left WWE with the WWE Championship, Triple H immediately began a tournament which was won by Rey Mysterio just eight days after Punk had won the Championship at Money In The Bank. Helmsley announced that Cena was still due a rematch as per his rematch clause. Cena pinned Mysterio that night to win the championship. As Cena celebrated his ninth WWE Championship, his party was pooped by a returning CM Punk. This set in motion a unification match for the WWE Championship between the two and the continued rise of CM Punk as not only a legitimate threat to John Cena, but his greatest to date.
JV Vernola has been a wrestling fan since he was three (around the same time Hogan was bodyslamming Andre) and has been able to write almost as long. He lives in the scorched earth that is the Arizona desert while trying to maintain awesomeness.
