WWE: Ranking The Previous 12 Battle Royals In Wrestlemania History

12. WrestleMania 27 - Impromptu Battle Royal

PreShow: The Great Khali won an impromptu battle royal by last eliminating WWE US Champion Sheamus at 8:29; other participants included Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins, Yoshi Tatsu, Mark Henry, R-Truth, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Primo Colon, Zack Ryder, Tyson Kidd, Daniel Bryan, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Drew McIntyre, David Hart Smith, JTG, Trent Baretta, Johnny Curtis, William Regal, Chris Masters, Evan Bourne, and Ted Dibiase Jr. Why it isn't ranked higher: It's bad enough that The Great Khali won a Battle Royal; the Punjabi Playboy wasn't even supposed to be in this match! This match was originally scheduled to be "King" Sheamus defending the United States Championship vs. Daniel Bryan in a Lumberjack Match. This possible classic was then moved to the pre-show, and then- because the lumberjacks just couldn't keep under control- Teddy Long came out, holla'ed once or twice, and- seeing there were too many people to make it a tag match- made it an impromptu Battle Royal. Interesting Fact: Sheamus and Bryan would eventually get their one-on-one match the following WrestleMania, a World Title match no less... Sheamus pinned Bryan in the opening match of the main card in a scant 18 seconds.
