WWE Raw 4/1/2013: 5 Things We Learned

2. The MidCard is Still Beyond Disappointing

Wrestlemania 29 Alberto Del Rio Vs Jack Swagger For weeks now we have discussed the disarray of the WWE midcard, but with the airing of this week's RAW program this fact was underscored even more greatly. Our case in point comes courtesy of someone's decision to air the WWE Intercontinental Title Match as a free, pre-show event. The Macho Man must be rolling over in his grave. This is a disgrace to the history of the title, and a disservice to both performers involved. Couple this Intercontinental Title travesty with an 8 man mixed tag match (since there is no viable Divas Division for the ladies to perform in), as well as this nonsense that has become Swagger and Del Rio and their accompanying henchmen, The Shield's confusing end game plans, and this absurd idea to have someone named Fandango make his wrestling debut at the biggest event of the year opposite the great Chris Jericho, and I am utterly speechless. We deserve better as fans and it's a testament to the fact that a 3 hour RAW program is just too big to fill with decent material and feels like Wrestlemania has been booked largely on the fly this year.
