WWE Raw Hits Highest Viewership Since January
People tuned in in droves for this week's post-SummerSlam episode of WWE Raw.
This week's episode of WWE Raw was the brand's most-watched since the 4 January Legends Night special, as over 200,000 viewers returned for the SummerSlam 2021 fallout show.
As originally reported by Wrestlenomics' Brandon Thurston, the 23 August episode of Raw was watched by an average of 2.067 million people across its three hours. This breaks down as follows:-
Hour one: 2.152 million
Hour two: 2.094 million
Hour three: 1.956 million
This is an increase on the previous week's 1.857 million viewers.
Raw also posted notable improvements in the key 18-49 demographic, where 826,000 viewers made for a 0.64 rating. This is the brand's highest number since the WrestleMania 37 fallout episode on 12 April.
The episode ended up finishing second amongst original cable shows on the night. It was outdone only by an NFL pre-season game that hit a 0.99 P18-49 rating on ESPN, which aired at 8 PM ET, making it direct competition.
WWE generated a solid amount of buzz with the returns of Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, though neither appeared on Raw. They are, however, expected for SmackDown this week, so it'll be interesting to see how that show does.
