WWE Raw Loses 700,000 More Viewers For Week 3 On Netflix, Drops To 7th In Charts (WWE News)
WWE Raw's Netflix viewership has now declined 49% since its 6 January premiere.
A total of 3 million global viewers watched WWE Raw for its third week on Netflix (20 January).
Per the official chart published on Netflix's Tudum site today, Raw was the 7th most-watched English-language television show on the streaming platform last week. These are global rankings accounting for seven days of viewership. Demographic details, including the key P18-49 group, are not published on Tudum.
Tudum's rankings are published every Tuesday at approximately 4PM ET. Last night's Raw (27 January) will be out next week.
So far, Raw has drawn the following global viewerships on Netflix:
6 January: 5.9 million.
13 January: 3.7 million.
20 January: 3 million.
Raw's viewership has thus declined by 49% since the much-hyped 6 Jan premiere.
New shows debuting on new platforms typically draw an artificially high number before settling into a more accurate average over the following weeks. Raw's week two to three decline wasn't as steep as week one to two, suggesting the 3 million figure is likely closer to where Raw will settle than the previous week.
Comparing these figures to the numbers Raw was drawing on USA Network before jumping to Netflix is apples to oranges. Netflix's viewership is far broader, covering audiences around the world across seven days. Nielsen ratings cover live and same-day DVR/on-demand viewing in the United States only. Thus, Netflix's numbers will inevitably be higher, unless the show suffers a huge dip in popularity.
The 6 January episode was hyped up as a pay-per-view level event, featuring huge names like Hulk Hogan and The Rock as well as high-profile matches Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins. The 13 and 20 Jan episodes were marketed more like regular Raw shows. This partly explains the week-over-week decline.
