WWE Raw Results 6/8/12 - Big Show Destroys CM Punk

Last night's WWE Raw results from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler are on commentary and the show kicks off with Justin Roberts introducing General Manager AJ Lee out to the ring. AJ announces tonight's matches. Big Show vs Randy Orton and for the first time ever on Raw, John Cena vs Daniel Bryan. AJ then goes on to make a big announcement before WWE Champion CM Punk comes down, interestingly with his normal hair style and look instead over the different worn he wore over the weekend. Punk says he lives a life with no regrets but is man enough to admit his mistakes. He did something last week he wishes he could take back but can't. He lost his temper and here apologies to AJ to a mixed reaction from the crowd. AJ accepts the apology and Punk hopes they can continue to be friends. He says AJ is bound to fall flat on her face at times as GM and make mistakes - like her booking of the triple threat WWE Title match at SummerSlam. Punk wants her to cancel the match but the crowd chants no and the match still stands. Punk claims he will wrestle anyone in a singles match but not a triple threat. John Cena's music hits and he comes out to a mixed reaction. Cena tells Punk that he is one of those guys who comes out every week demanding respect. Cena says you must earn respect and not demand it. Cena flirts with AJ for a little (seriously) and then talks about how he won't be disrespected by anyone. Cena says Punk won't likely be the Champion after SummerSlam and out comes the Big Show. AJ gets upset and tells everyone to stop because this is her show and she wants to run it the way she wants without it getting out of hand. She reminds Cena and Big Show that they have matches tonight. She also says CM Punk has a match but doesn't know who the opponent is. She is going to let the fans pick out of The Miz, Kane or Rey Mysterio via a Twitter poll. Voting begins immediately and the match is up next. AJ skips away as the announcers plug the Twitter voting. After the break and it is revealed the winner is Rey Mysterio. 1) WWE Champion CM Punk defeated Rey Mysterio with the GTS in a non-title match. Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez arrive backstage in a Ferrari. Del Rio seems angry as they head to the arena. A promo airs for Wade Barrett's return focusing in on his bare knuckle background as a fighter. He claims the barrage has just begun. Del Rio walks in the General Manager's office to complain about not wanting to compete until SummerSlam. She says he is not booked for a match anyway and walks off. Del Rio runs his mouth and she comes back and decides to book him in a match that is up next. 2) Alberto Del Rio defeated Christian with a Cross Armbreaker when Ricardo Rodriguez interfered. Post-match, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus appears on the big screen with Del Rio's Ferrari. Ricardo left the keys in the car and Sheamus says he is going to drive around San Antonio. 3) Randy Orton and The Big Show goes to a no-contest after a double count out on the outside where they are brawling. After the match, Show gets Orton back in the ring for the knockout punch but Orton just ducks it and lays him out with an RKO. 4) Ryback defeated Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins in a Handicap match when he hit the Shellshocked on Hawkins.5) Primo & Epico defeated The Prime Time Players when Epico hit the Backstabber on Young for the victory. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth came down during the match to watch. A video package of Raw 1000 when DX laid out Damien Sandow plays. We see footage from last week when Sandow took his frustrations out on Brodus Clay. Josh Matthews is looking for a comment from Sandow and he responds saying he obligated to rid WWE of all the foolishness. 6) Damien Sandow and Brodus Clay goes to a no-contest when Sandow attacks Clay at the ramp and works on his leg, appearing to have injured Clay. Sandow smiles and taunts Clay as the WWE officials tend to him. AJ Lee is backstage shown deep in thought. The camera pans and shows Daniel Bryan sitting there. She says he has definite anger management issues, no matter what the shrink said last week. Bryan claims that now he has calmed down he agrees. He agrees with her decision to face Cena tonight but he wants the SummerSlam match changed to a Fatal 4 Way to also include him. AJ says he already as a match at SummerSlam against Kane. Bryan gets up and yells "NO" while AJ responds with yes. 7) Kelly Kelly defeated Eve Torres with a pin out of nowhere. Shawn Michaels comes out to the ring and thanks fans for helping him be part of history once again for Raw 1000. He talks about the DX reunion and calls it priceless. He says he's just fine on his ranch but when he heard RAW was coming to San Antonio, he couldn't miss it. He says the more things seem to change, the more they stay the same. He talks about the new faces he sees backstage but the one thing that is the same is the talk. Shawn says everyone is talking about the SummerSlam match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar. Lesnar's music interrupts and out he comes with Paul Heyman. Heyman takes the mic and says everyone wants to know Shawn's opinion of the match. Heyman calls Shawn the greatest in-ring entertainer in WWE history but says Lesnar isn't going to SummerSlam to entertain. He is going to fight Triple H and prove he is the baddest dude on the planet. Crowd chants for HBK. Shawn says there is no dispute here as he knows the attributes of Lesnar. Heyman chimes in but Shawn tells him not to put words in his mouth. Shawn says HHH is acting like someone he doesn't know anymore. HBK says he will be in his friend's corner at SummerSlam to watch Triple H defeated Lesnar. Heyman tells Lesnar that's the big announcement and mocks Michaels when Triple H's music comes out and they are ready to fight. Triple H stands beside HBK and Lesnar laughs and takes the mic. He says he will see him at SummerSlam and points at Shawn saying he will see him before then. The crowd chants "you suck" at Lesnar as he smiles back at the ring. 8) Alex Riley defeated Dolph Ziggler with a roll-up out of nowhere for the upset when Chris Jericho distracted Ziggler at ringside.9) Kane defeated WWE IC Champion The Miz in a non-title match with a Chokeslam.10) John Cena defeated Daniel Bryan with the Attitude Adjustment for the clean win in the main event. Post-match, Punk comes out determined to make sure RAW ends the same way it has for the past two weeks with the WWE Champion on top holding his belt. Big Show comes out whilst Cena gets on commentary and Show gives Punch the WMD knockout punch. Big Show holds up the WWE title over his shoulders as RAW goes off the air.
