3. Daniel Bryan Refuses To Give Up The WWE World Heavyweight Championship
In a not so unexpected move, Daniel Bryan returned to RAW this week and refused to give up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Stephanie McMahon. Instead he vowed not to comply, and advised Steph that he would remain the champion despite his injury, which is, of course, worse than originally believed. Stephanie offered Bryan one final chance, at this weekend's Payback PPV, to turn over the title. But it came with a catch: If Bryan doesn't do the right thing, his wife Brie will be fired from WWE. http://youtu.be/m9tRTVLokM4 This is an interesting play for WWE to make. Bryan is certainly not ready to compete in the ring, but this move puts him on the PPV and it leaves the status of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship up in the air for another week. It also keeps Brie in the program alongside her husband who is obviously still recovering. It's hard to say what the endgame will be come Sunday night, but it's probable Bryan gives up the strap to save his wife's job. This is a nice development that will have some fans who were on the fence about getting the PPV making the purchase the weekend.
