WWE Refused To Let Bryan Danielson Do THIS

Vince McMahon just wouldn't let AEW's Bryan Danielson get his own way in WWE.

Bryan Danielson desperately wanted to work matches on WWE's now-defunct 205 Live brand several years ago.

Fellow AEW peer Tony Nese dished the details on this during a chat with 'Captain's Corner' on Facebook - according to Nese, the then-Daniel Bryan was extremely keen on visiting the Cruiserweight show and working lengthy matches against anybody who fancied it.

Vince McMahon...wasn't so keen.

The now-former WWE leader told Bryan there was simply no chance he was working shots on 205 Live any time soon. Compromising, McMahon agreed to bring Mustafa Ali up to SmackDown in late-2018. Ali's performance vs. Danielson turned enough heads (including Vince's) backstage that he became a permanent addition to the main roster.

Bryan's Cruiser dreams were sort of/kinda placated, at least in the short-term, but Nese claims the technical wizard had all sorts of grand plans for a run on 205 Live. That would've been cool to see, and might even have drawn some eyes to a show that only pro wrestling's most hardcore fans bothered to check out.

McMahon didn't see it that way, and he wasn't about to let one of his biggest stars wrestle on the show.
