WWE Releases 2020-2021: Where Are They Now?

28. The IIconics

The IIconics
WWE

Released: 15 April 2021

Now: The IIconics went on to become The IInspiration in IMPACT, but both Billie Kay and Peyton Royce announced that they'd be stepping away from active wrestling for a while in April 2022. Then, in August, Peyton (Cassie Lee) revealed that she and husband Shawn Spears were expecting their first child.

The personable Australian duo have enough going on, but it'd be sweet to see them back in wrestling again someday.

27. Erick Rowan

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: Like Bo Dallas, big Erick Rowan has been linked with a return to WWE as part of Bray's 'Wyatt 6' concept. Keep your eyes peeled for that, because it might be Rowan's only ticket back to the big time - he's spoken openly about never signing a full-time deal with AEW out of respect to fallen friend Brodie Lee.

What a guy.

26. Zelina Vega

Released: 13 November 2020

Now: Zelina Vega was released in November 2020, but WWE brought her back for another stint in July 2021. That led to her being crowned the first ever 'Queen's Crown' winner, then moving into the women's tag ranks. Nowadays, Zelina is the new leader of Legado del Fantasma on SmackDown.

Playing the mouthpiece (and ditching the English royal gimmick) should be good for her.

25. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

AJ Styles Good Brothers Luke Gallows Karl Anderson
WWE

Released: 15 April 2020

Now: It looked like that was it for The Good Brothers when WWE released them in April 2020. Together, the pair worked some dates for AEW here or there afterwards, but that was a side quest. Their main gigs were for both IMPACT and New Japan.

Triple H re-signed the pair in October and put them back alongside AJ Styles on Raw.

24. Eva Marie

Released: 4 November 2021

Now: 'All Red/Pink' Everything' saw her second WWE run come to an end last November. That freed old ally Doudrop up to do other things, but Eva Marie is always going to be on the rumour mill as a possible returnee. She's like the nWo in that respect: "4 life"!

It hasn't happened yet though, so Marie has been busy pushing her own activewear range and exploring some more acting opportunities.
