With WWE having made several releases this past weekend, Elektra Lopez is now the latest name to be added to that list.

As per PWInsider, Lopez was released by WWE on Friday evening, with her since having been moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com. Elektra joins Paul Ellering, Akam, Rezar, Cedric Alexander, Blair Davenport, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Giovanni Vinci, and Isla Dawn in being let go by the market leader over the past few days. Sonya Deville is also on her way out of WWE, with the company opting to not renew Deville's contract ahead of it expiring in the coming weeks.

Elektra Lopez was most recently seen on WWE TV on last week's SmackDown, appearing in a backstage segment where Legado del Fantasma confronted the Motor City Machine Guns. If this PWInsider report is accurate - as PWInsider so often is - that would mean Lopez was released later that day.

A second-generation talent - her father being José Rivera, aka Steve King - the real-life Karissa Rivera had been with WWE since early 2021. Prior to that, the New Jersey native made her in-ring debut in 2017, spent some time in Ring of Honor, and worked several enhancement matches for WWE before officially signing with the company.

Elektra Lopez In WWE

Once signed to WWE, Elektra Lopez made her formal debut in the summer of 2021, competing on the NXT brand. It wouldn't take long for the talent to align herself with the original incarnation of Legado del Fantasma on WWE's developmental brand, cementing her as a heel in the process.

Despite Legado getting called up to the main roster, Elektra would remain in NXT until finally rejoining the faction last January. Since heading to the main roster, Lopez has wrestled just three televised matches, with only one of those being a singles match. As for her last in-ring appearance, that was a triple threat bout on a December episode of SmackDown as part of the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE United States Women's Champion.

Where that one televised singles main roster singles match is concerned, that was a win over Zelina Vega back in April. For the most part, Elektra Lopez had been utilised as a valet for Legado del Fantasma during her time with the group on the SmackDown brand.
